Biography


Nasim Nasr graduated with a BA in Graphic Design from the Art University of Tehran in 2006 and completed her Master of Visual Arts (Research) at the School of Art, Architecture & Design, University of South Australia, in 2011.

Her drawings and photographs have been featured in numerous exhibitions and festivals in Iran, and since being in Australia she has exhibited in CACSA CONTEMPORARY 2010: THE NEW NEW; Border Crossings: Human Rights Adelaide Art & Film Festival, (both 2010); Nexus Gallery, Adelaide and her performance Women in Shadow was presented at the Australian Experimental Art Foundation, Adelaide; Walker Street Gallery and Art Centre in Melbourne (2011). She was one of the winners of 2011 Boston Online Biennial Project which had a V.I.P. Opening Reception during the 54th Venice Biennial and Awards Presentation 2011.

Her photography has been published in Art & Australia, Broadsheet and Artlink magazines; and recently she received Professional Development grants from the Adelaide City Council Public Art Program and Helpmann Academy, Adelaide.

Nasim Nasr will be a participating artist in the 2012 Sydney Festival Edge of Elsewhere project with 4A Gallery and Campbelltown Arts Centre, followed by a solo exhibition at The Project Space, Contemporary Art Centre of SA, during the 2012 Adelaide Festival of Arts.
